Best Portable Screening for your needs.

Tired of paying for material processing or worse, dumping valuable aggregate or topsoil? A portable screener can help you cut costs, speed up jobs, and improve material control.

If you're a small contractor, building contractor, or landscaping professional, adding a compact screening plant to your business could be a game-changer. Whether it's creating road base & fill materials, or screening topsoil on-site, having the right portable screener saves time, cuts costs, and boosts efficiency. But with so many compact screening options available, it's important to choose the one that works for your specific needs.

This guide will compare the key features of four excellent portable screening plants from smallest to largest; Komplet Kompatto 221 , MDS M300, Masaba 8x20 Screen Plant, and the McCloskey R230. Even if you aren’t considering these exact models, this blog will help you can make an informed decision about which kind of machine is best for your business.

Benefits of Owning a Small Screening Plant

  • Time  Savings and Convenience: On-site screening eliminates the need for subcontracting and the long wait times that often come with  outsourcing. By processing materials directly at the job site, you can significantly reduce downtime and keep projects moving forward, allowing for faster and more efficient project completion.
  • Enhanced  Portability: Modern screeners are compact and mobile, making them easy to transport between job sites. This portability boosts versatility, allowing you to handle multiple projects in different locations with minimal setup time. They are also available in tracked and wheeled options. Each suited for different terrains.
  • Cost  and Time Efficiency: Producing your own material on-site, you save money by eliminating the need to purchase materials elsewhere. By processing materials on-site, you eliminate the need to transport raw  materials to and from external processing facilities, cutting down on transportation costs and reducing delays. This not only saves money but also keeps projects on schedule, which is crucial for maintaining profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Versatility in Material Handling: Screening plants are capable of separating various materials into usable fractions. Whether you’re dealing with construction debris, rock, gravel, or topsoil, these machines can  produce on-spec material that meets specific project requirements. For example, you can separate rocks and debris from topsoil to create high-quality, valuable material. This processed topsoil can be reused for landscaping, grading, or other projects, or even sold for a profit, adding     another revenue stream to your business.
  • Increased  Control and Flexibility: Owning a screening plant gives you greater control over your material processing. Instead of relying on third parties, you can ensure that materials are processed to exact specifications, which is especially important for meeting project standards. The ability to create on-spec material not only improves the quality of your work but also enhances project efficiency and flexibility, as you can quickly adapt to changing needs without external delays.

Keep Fuel Close and Equipment Moving

John Kerrigan is back with another practical trailer optionfrom Thunder Creek: the 2025 EV990 Economy Fuel and Service Trailer.

When equipment is spread across a large site, every tripback to the fuel yard costs time. The EV990 gives contractors, fleet managers, agricultural operations, and equipment owners a way to transport dieseldirectly to the machines that need it.

With up to 990 gallons of diesel capacity, the trailer helpscrews spend less time waiting on fuel and more time working.

Built for Mobile Fuel Delivery

The EV990 is designed around straightforward field fueling. Its single bulk diesel tank is constructed from 7-gauge steel and includesthree full-height internal baffles. A dual 6,000-pound torsion-axleconfiguration supports transport between jobsites.

Key features include:

  • Up to     990 gallons of diesel capacity
  • On-site     fueling for equipment and fleet vehicles
  • Mobile     fuel-pumping and hose-reel configurations
  • Optional     DEF handling capability
  • 7-gauge     steel fuel tank
  • Three     full-height internal tank baffles
  • Dual     6,000-pound torsion axles
  • Approximately     3,000-pound empty weight

Available pumping configurations make it easier to transferfuel cleanly and efficiently in the field. An optional 50-gallon DEF system isalso available for the EV990, allowing crews to support Tier 4 equipment fromthe same trailer platform.

Reduce Downtime and Unnecessary Fuel Runs

The EV990 addresses a simple operating problem: equipmentcannot produce while it is waiting for fuel.

Bringing diesel directly to the machine reduces unnecessarytrips, helps centralize field fueling, and gives crews better control over whenequipment is serviced. That can be especially valuable on large constructionsites, farms, aggregate operations, and remote projects.

Fuel it. Keep it moving.
